PERSONAL AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Ideally, I would like to promote the idea of having a writing group for older people in Hervey Bay.
Encouraging older people to tell their stories is so powerful, especially in this day and age when you can purchase an e-book program such as Vellum (or an equivalent program) for a minimal fee. The power of telling your story, developing your self-esteem as a writer and potentially generating an income source, far exceeds the cost.
Most people have varying abilities to write, therefore I see it as our societal responsibility to encourage our older people to tell their stories; possibly self-publish and become the beholders of their stories.
